Nicholas Derr
Research
Active matter, scientific computing, continuum mechanics, poroelasticity, fluid-solid interaction
Bio
Nick Derr received his BS in Applied Math, Engineering and Physics (AMEP) from UW-Madison in 2015 and his MASt in Applied Math from the University of Cambridge in 2016. He completed his PhD in Applied Math working with Chris Rycroft at Harvard University in 2022. He uses simplified models and high-performance computation to study active systems in biology and physics, especially those with elements of poroelastic flow or fluid-solid interaction.
