Thesis Proposal

Students must submit a thesis proposal of about five pages to the Math Academic Services office, preferably within one year of passing the qualifying examination, but in any case no later than the beginning of the 6th semester. This should consist of a preliminary title, a summary of the background and relevant bibliography, and a description of the proposed research. The signature of the thesis advisor is required. If the plan changes substantially, then a revised proposal should be submitted.
