Math in Drag visit entertains and inspires

Our department, along with MIT LGBTQ+ Services and Harvard Undergraduate Queer Advocates, was excited to host a visit by Kyne Santos @onlinekyne, a math educator and drag queen well-known for her entertaining math videos on TikTok. Dressed in her Rubik’s Cube-inspired gown, Kyne read from her new book, “Math in Drag,” held a lively Q&A on topics ranging from her favorite mathematicians to makeup tips, and stayed long after the event was over to talk to students and take photos.

“She created such a warm atmosphere for us,” said one attendee. Said another, “I could tell the queer math kids felt ‘seen’ in a way they may not have before.”
